Lots of love xxx
Well that's it...I am done with the university and have a BA degree in Film and TV Production...well almost. Officially I will get it in November but the school is over.
So what's next... Don't know really... Got work at the moment at Nomadic Films with some coolest people in London and have another job prospect on the horizon. We'll see what comes next. For now I just want to chill and clear my head for a little.
Apart from that...pretty busy on the music front.
Firstly I am going to see the mighty Deep Purple in August of course.
Still strying to track down a ticket for Whitesnake and Def Leppard..I havent given up yet, I still cannot accept that I will miss this coolest line up ever and prepared to even go by myself...Not the first time either..
And of course Heavens Basement are still keeping me happy with their rockign tunes and lots of gigs. 2 more coming up on the 1st of July and the 17th - which is going to be at the awesome rock event called Paradise City in Soho - and I might as well work there.
So all good.
Here's a great photo of my lovely girls at the graduation showcase - the same girls I have worked with on the Hellmann's commercial so sort of a reunion :-))
And this one's from my sister's and mom's recent visit in my most favourite place in London - and I live 15 mins from there!!!
aren't we good-looking? :-))))
Peace and Love! x

Hail to the future of British rock. They are here and they are IT - Heaven's Basement.
The headline gig at tiny Camden Barfly on Tuesday was the best I have seen them yet, they just keep getting better and better and it's only been 2 months gigging.
Brilliant!
Catch them while they're playing all over any small live venue in UK 'cause soon they'll be playing Wembley!

Just back from the cinema after watching the new Guillermo Del Toro produced film The Orphanage. First impression - brilliant. I don't think I haveseen such a good horror film in years: stunning cinematography, amazing story, incredible direction and acting, great sound design. It is everything a horror film should be but it is also a wonderful dramatic story, rather inventive storytelling and boy, I don't think I have ever got chills during the film. I have seriously considered leaving the theatre as I could not take it anymore, it was that terrifying...Not so much in the imagery, but in the suspense..it was that hauting.
A definite must see!
So here it is everyone, finally on youttube. Hellmann's Kodak Commercial called 'Lunchtime'

ENJOY!
Let's just hope that either Robert Plant is aware of that and is going to join them after he finishes his tour with that country chick or he is not aware and will be sent the new material and will join them because what they write will be pure genious like anything Zeppelin do.
Just imagine....a new Led Zeppelin album...a tour! Imagine!!!
We're not worthy, we're not worthy!!!!
With all the filming I have had no time to keep track of what is happening in the rock'n'roll world. It is interesting though that to keep myself focused and energisied I HAVE to go to rock concerts... How amazing would it be if I found a way to combine film and rock music. Is there such profession? If someone knows, please tell me!!
Anyway. There are tons of concerts this summer and I missed out on all of them because I was not quick enough to buy tickets since I was not sure what I would be doing during the summer...Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Queen and Paul Rodgers, even Bon Jovi...all SOLD OUT..God Dammit!
But there is one band that keeps me happy at least. The are New British Classic Rock band called Heaven's Basement.
Remember Roadstar that I raved about previously, who I have discovered 2 years ago at the Monsters of Rock?
Well they are back with new songs and new look and they are absolutely stunning and are possibly the only band I have faith in to keep the Classic Rock legacy in this century. They were absolutely brilliant in Barfly on April 16th.
Their song Executioner's Day is one of the best rock songs I have heard in years. Watch the video above!!!
Oh and by the way, they are the most good looking bunch I have seen rocking on stage ever. ;-)

First news first, I am graduating in June finally after 5 years of university education on either sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Actually if you count it together it totals into 17 years of schooling.
The filming of our graduation film Trouble Under My Skin is over. We have raised enough money by walking 30 km and filmed over 8 days all over London. It looks quite promising even though it is in early post production stages.
And here is only 1/3 of our crew, all the Heads of Departments at the end of the 30km walk from Paddington to Uxbridge:
That's for the graduation film.
More excitingly I have been working on another short film as 1st Assistant Director called Human Assembly, an independent production and first peoduction with a professional non-student crew and a relatively big budget.
Check out the web site with storyboards and synopsys: www.human-assembly.com We wrapped on 21st of April and the film is in post production at the moment and will be finished by September 2008. It will be sent to most prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Tribeca, etc so fingers crossed!
One more month and here comes the REAL life....
Went to Kodak Student Commercials 2008 last night where we were magically short listed. It was held at the legendary BAFTA with drinks reception and a nice 3 course meal.
Did we win???
1st Place in Best in Brief - Hellmann's! Oh yeah. First award of my life :-) (of this scale, anyway) Thank you, Kodak!

Well...If anyone of you ever had bronchitis, I don't envy you. I have had it for TWO bloody weeks now and it doesn't let go. Awful stuff. The worst thing is I haven't been able to work all this time and now there is no work so my bank account is shedding tears...
On a brighter note... Don't know if you know but I made a 30'' commercial for Hellmann's last autumn as a part of the Kodak Commercials Student Competition 2007 and it has been short listed - meaning it is in the FINAL. We get to go to the awards ceremony at the begining of March. Exciting. Frankly iy is a cute little commercial but I did not think we'd go as far.
Also... we are in pre-production of our graduation film now called Trouble Under My Skin. All I can say is...it is going to be rather bloody...I am Assistant Director on the film. We are filming at the end of March. At the moment we are organising a fundraiser. As last year, we are going to walk 30 km in order to rase money for the film. So if anyone has an extra million 5-10 pounds, please feel free to sponsor us. It is going to be a great short film, I know. All in all, it is our last film within the university setting....

Film/Student life:
1. Completed my work experience in Nomadic Films, which was great fun.
2. Directed a Hellmann's commercial for the Kodak Commercials Competition which turned out quite well
3. Wrote a scirpt for a short film which was read out at the script fest
4. Handed in my dissertation on National Indentity in Russian Post Soviet Cinema of the 1990s, which took me 9 month to research and write
5. Have 4 month till I get a BA in Film and Tv Production - crazy....3 years have gone by so fast......
6. About to go into pre-production of our Graduation Film...
Personal:
1. Had my dream of a lifetime come true - I saw LED ZEPPELIN reunite at the London O2 arena in December. How did I get tickets? Won them of course..which never ever happens. Life-changing experience I have to say....Never saw or heard anything like this before.
2. Have been worried about my future...scary to graduate at last..no more student life. What's next???
3. Still single....when will that perfect man come into my life at last???
4. Planning on staying in London for a while.. Even though thinking about going back to NYC or LA....or tell everyone to fuck off and go to Russia...
Music:
1. Led Zeppelin have been a part of my life for the last 5 years. Now even more so. They have proved that they are indeed the best rock band in the world to the world. And Jimmy Page is superhuman. I have seen him playing in December and it was UNREAL. Than man is a GOD. And I accepts no argument, I have seen and heard him. It is true!
2. Saw Aerosmith and the Scorpions last summer - both gigs were phenomenal!
3. Looking forward to Scorpions announcing their dates for the UK tour soon. May be I will go see them in Tallinn even.
4. Can't believe I missed out the Whitesnake and Iron Maiden tickets....will wait till closer to the date...may be I will manage to get them....
5. Can't wait till the Queen and Paul Rodgers tour...September in London! Oh yeah.
Well that's about it then..... Some pictures in the next post...

Well, I am back here at the begining of my summer holiday. So what's in store for me...
First of all, just received the new Scorpions album and it's their best in years. Can't stop playing it. So looking forward to seeing them in July!
Secondly, I have decided on my tattoo design and going to check out the tattoo place on Friday, see if I like it. I read good reviews about it.
Will be having my work practice June and July and occasionally working in Park Lane - that's the plan. Hopefully will get to do something interesting.
Apparently Ozzy Osbourne ripped the Saku Suurhall in Tallinn on Monday, oh yeah. That man will outlive all of us, mark my words. ALL ABOARD, hahaha!
Finally watched the 3rd Pirates and it's great, not as great as the other two, but still pretty friggin' good! Love Geoffrey Rush in it...And my praise for Johnny Depp is unnecessary - everyone's in love with that man, even men!
What else... Our Crit was a disaster.. Both films that we made were heavily criticised. Fab! We spent 4 months working our butts off on those films and the reason they turned out they way they did because we took too many suggestions from the lecturers. Most of the things they said were bullshit.
On a better note, it's less than three weeks till I am going to rock my heart out at the Aerosmith gig in Hyde Park, can't believe it, still can't! I am so going to go wild. A nice company of friends will join me so it's bound to be good.
To wrap things up, here's a pic from the set of Glass of Milk - me being Assistant Director and looking slightly stressed..yet. ha. Scratching my head to find the answer and Luane - the super Director!
...and our two actresses Karen and Carrigan on the set. Carrigan - our child star - was a legend!
Oh just watched Sahara wit Matthew McConahey... He is quite corgeous I gotta say. I never bothered to watch this film in a cinema because it looked like another blockbuster crap but t reason I watched it because Chris Newman was the Assistant Director on it - I mentioned him before about the lecture he did at the university regardint First AD-ing. The film's actually quite good - action packed, grabs the attention and surprisingly humorous... Who would have thought.
Nothing really interesting has happened so I'll just natter.
Trying to raise money for our films because we spent much more than we could possibly afford. We are going to walk 55 miles in 2 days. Monday 28th is approaching fast and I have no sponsors so far, well, apart from my dad but that doesn't really count because it is sort of my money...which is not really the point of the walk cuz I'll be paying myself to walk..?!
Got the new Ozzy's album Black Rain and it bloody rocks. Been playing it all evening. Ordered the new Scorps album as well.
The Pirates are about to start in the theatres. Finally! Will definitely watch it next week. Been missing Captain Sparrow!
Getting quite addicted to FaceBook! Check it out, people. It is much better than MySpace.
And finally...more photos from Ross. Hey, he's my favourite cheeky rock photographer after all.
The Voice and The Flying V of Rock - Herr Klaus Meine and Herr Rudolf Schenker
The gang! Love this photo - the lights are amazing.
Get ready folks! The Scorpions are back to sting you!

have been feeling ill for a few weeks now, can;'t figure out whether it is cold of allery, like hayfever or something...
my two most favourite guitarists in rock'n'roll - Mr May and Mr Page (photo by Ross Halfin)
A few great albums are coming out very soon and I am looooking forward to gettinh them:
Scorpions - Humanity Hour 1, May 28th
Ozzy Osbourne - Black Rain, May 21st
Velvet Revolver - Libertad, June 11th
Whitesnake, 20th anniversary CD/DVD - June 11th
This summer's soundtrack ROCKS!
Busy in bloody Park Lane as well next week meaning I have no life again. Filming was so much more fun busy. Got such a sore throat. I am on and off with this cold for the last two weeks and nothing helps, must be in the air.
Got my ticket for Aerosmith finally! After 10 calls to Ticketmaster demanding my ticket. So, yes, I am going!
Will go watch The Lives of Others on Saturday. Everyone is raving about it. The guy in it looks just like Kevin Spacey so it's a bit off-putting...
I can't stop listening to my new found treasure Voodoo Six. Been playing the album since February when I discovered them in Essex. Still I found it fascinatingly rocking. It happens to me very rarely. Usually I am bored with the album after a few weeks. There is something about it that catches my ear every time.
Have a listen or get the album on www.voodoosix.com.
